MYTH: Crazy Eights
A driven person pushed to achieve success at all costs in the worlds nearly goes crazy with the frustration of constant goals for expansion and plans to minimize “failure”. A catastrophic event occurs that shatters his or her life. By embracing the catastrophe and rising to the occasion, the character succeeds in ways in which he had never envisioned. This proves to be life’s greatest blessing to him. Life is not meant to be controlled or managed. It is a series of choices in the moment for whatever comes next.

An “everything goes” lifestyle is
detrimental on the earth plane. While
people in current society feel affinity for
perpetual growth and expansion, it is not
a device that is supported by Universal
Truth. If one looks at nature and
evaluates the succession of
synchronicity, it could be concluded that
life is cyclical and periods of darkness
and light are the modus operandi of
balance. Willingness to remember this
is presented in the Crazy Eights myth. It
illustrates that people fall into sync with
a lifestyle that flows not one that is
perpetually driven to control life
circumstance.
Characters:
Characters are from all walks of life.
Their main personality characteristic is
that they seek perpetual expansion and
think that they can control their future.
1. Students seeking professional
careers with a fast track to the top of
business.
2. Executives reinventing their careers in
mid life.
3. Housewives seeking to create the
perfect home life as an accouterment to
their husband’s success.
Conflicts:
The character conflicts are usually
associated with goal setting and
planning that disregards the
relationships with people in their life.
Relationships with people are the
foundation of a successful life. It is true
that relationships build synchronicity
between people that propels them
forward more quickly in their careers
and personal life.
En masse, people instinctually seek out
others for relationship and the
harmonious progression of a life
course. But constant goal setting and
planning often stands in the way of
relationship and does little to further the
natural process of karmic expansion on
the earth plane. Karma dictates that
people will shine during periods of
stress and the solving of life lessons in
the classroom called life. To plan away
difficulty or negate hardship is
incongruent with the natural process.
Conflicts will be associated with the
setting of the myth.
Resolution:
Resolution is found in the process of
expansion that is found during times
classified as “catastrophic” or
“difficult”. People often rise to the
occasion when things are worse. One
should not seek out difficulty to “get it
out of the way” but the key to the Crazy
Eights myth is that one should be ready
for anything that comes. It is elemental
to survival as well as success on the
earth plane. Filtering or disregarding
while narrowly focused on a particular
goal does little provide the sustenance
for real life achievement.
So to conclude, all people decide on a
life course that maximizes pleasure
and minimizes pain. This is human
nature. It is also supported biologically
by the phenomenon known as the flight
or flight reflex. People have a natural
inclination to move away from
controversy. Some people stir up
controversy in order to rise to the
occasion as a marred hero but that is
not the subject of this particular myth.
But as is stated in Crazy Eights myth to
avoid, deny, ignore, negate, or run away
from difficulty is not fulfilling one’s life
course. It is to be remembered during
times of difficulty that this is a natural
part of the life cycle and propels a
human being to fulfill their life destiny.
Also, it is often the person’s finest hour
and initiates a human being to discover
themselves and shine. Successful
people play the hand that is dealt them.
Storylines:
1. A capitalist, who has insulated
himself from every small task and
unpleasant reality through the use of
servitude by others, finds himself in a
catastrophic life event. His luxury
automobile breaks down in rural
Appalachia. First, he must learn to
survive by living in the woods.
Secondly, he survives by the generosity
of coal miners who expect him to work
for his keep. This brief life event
creates a shift in the capitalist’s
personality that alters the course of the
remainder of his life.
2. Winning friends and influencing
people is the modus operandi of a
successful automobile salesman. He
achieves every monthly sales goal and
yearly award. When a youthful car thief
takes him on the ride of his life and
holds him hostage, he realizes the
value of the friendships of his previous
life. He learns that one cannot always
choose one’s life direction. He rises to
the occasion of the experience,
influences the delinquent, and gains a
better understanding of himself and his
true human capabilities.
4. Effortless accomplishment follows
the luckiest man alive. Everything he
does turns to gold. He does not
understand the difficulties of other
people’s lives. He falsely believes that
everyone could be as successful as he
is if they were “smart enough”. When
he is hit by a car while crossing the
street, his luck changes. Suddenly, he
has become the most unlucky person
alive. Trying to undo his misfortune
becomes his all encompassing life
goal. Through various trials and
tribulations, he tries to get his luck
back. Only by embracing his
misfortune and sliding to what he
previously considered “the bottom”, he
realizes how lucky the event really
was.
