MYTH: New Bes New Bes seek out everything new and improved to capture a new and improved version of themselves and are driven to seek for what cannot be found. Their self imposed trap in thinking about securing the future does not allow them to live for today. They become lost if they do not seek for the truth both inside and outside the self.
|
New Bes subscribe to catalogues,
magazines and on-line services to stay
abreast of cutting edge technology,
styles and trends to capture more out of
the moment. These people push
themselves into the future with an
obsession about a world they cannot
see. This life approach eventually
results in frustration, fatigue and anxiety
from thinking that new products,
services and technology can secure
what is outside mankind’s control. But
News Bes are driven to seek what
cannot be found.
The future is a vast land of potentiality
that has not yet materialized. It is
delightful to experience it when it
arrives. Miracles occur when a person
meets the future with willingness and an
open heart for whatever comes next. Yet
it is human nature to maximize pleasure
and minimize pain. And New Bes buy
new and improved products and
services to try to secure a continual state
of pleasure for the future which is
impossible.
The past can only be viewed through the
personal lens of perception and the
future will hold different challenges than
what can be visualized in the here and
now. People gamble with their futures
when they try to make decisions today
that will impact tomorrow. The best a
person can do to secure a prosperous
future is to make daily correct choices
with the information that they currently
have available. To act with camaraderie,
support, friendship, benevolence, fidelity
to family and home life, and succumbing
to the Divine Will of God; Whomever
people believe that Being to be, is the
best way of securing a prosperous
future.
But New Bes cannot do that. They are
caught in self imposed traps in thinking
that manifest in a variety of ways.
People of limited means think they have
must use manipulation, deceit, and
sometimes outright theft to acquire a
lifestyle in order to feel secure in the
world. Narcissistic people buy
everything new and improved to
complete the image they want to portray
to others to gain some upper hand. But
both of these approaches create a
thwarted view of life both now and in the
future.
If people would embrace the search for
the truth and take inventory of all the
things they have, they would begin to
see that they have everything that they
need. Actually; factually, people who
have cleared themselves of the self
imposed traps in thinking that hold them
back from achieving all they can with
what they have to work with; already
have an accomplished lifestyle.
Characters
Characters are everyman and
everywoman who are obsessed with
body image, societal status, and
possessions. All human beings are
uniquely flawed for maximal learning in
the classroom called life. And by
cosmic design, areas of people’s
individual personality portend into other
people’s relationship fields
electromagnetically. This transference
promotes optimal learning. But New
Bes quest for all the elements of a life to
be in sync within the self first (before
participating with others in relationship)
is a major self imposed trap in thinking.
Character Examples:
1. Those addicted to consumerism and
a disposable society.
2. Those who lack faith in the future and
in other people.
3. Those who choose self satisfaction
right now over relationships with people.
4. Those who pick and choose people
to become involved with to create the
image of the life they think they deserve.
Conflicts
Conflicts are related to the arena of the
self imposed trap in thinking and how it
manifests. New Bes sense their
personal flaws but dismiss them with
the rationale that self improvement will
solve everything. They continue the
compulsive search for a new and
improved version of themselves and
justify the quest as a birthright i.e., it is
necessary behavior in order to be the
best they can be.
Conflict Examples:
1. Dismissing unexpected
opportunities because they are not
planned.
2. Re-incorporating elements of
celebrity’s personalities into their own
life, i.e., mimicking and mirroring other
people’s behavior and style.
3. Selecting partners for relationship
(regardless of chemical attraction) for
what he or she can add to their life.
4. Finding renewable sources of self-
improvement/inspiration in trendy
consumer goods and services.
Resolution
Resolution rarely occurs in a
satisfactory way for New Bes unless
they become interested in the dictates
of the truth. If New Bes do not seek for
truth, they become lost in a house of
mirrors. Truth is somewhat relative to
the person believing in it and New Bes
may first look for some truth about
themselves. This may lead to the
search outside the self for the
“absolute” truth in a larger sense
(which eventually leads to a search for
universal truth or higher
consciousness). Still and all, New Bes
must seek for abstract thinking as
opposed to the narcissistic need for
adornment or they will never grow in
the spiritual sense.
Storylines
1. Teenagers are hungry for designer
clothes and new technology to
complete the vision of the person they
would like to be. They are rocked by a
Bolt Out of the Blue when their parents
can no longer support their image
through an illness or loss of a job. It
becomes apparent to those in the
teenager’s peer group that their friend
is not keeping up with the status quo.
The teenager is embarrassed and
drops out of their social circle. He or
she becomes a more fully actualized
human being, however, by running for
election on the school council and
speaking for all of the students in the
school not just one group. The youth
runs on an agenda that the quality of
the person is what matters above all
other things and wins a stunning victory.
2. Show dogs are narcissistic centers
of attention. They flash their superiority
and incredible physical attributes in
shows, magazines, and stud services.
The spoiled, pure bred animals serve
as an accouterment to their owners
and their social circle. When a prized
dog runs away from a show and lives
as a mongrel on the street, it is
indoctrinated into a harsher reality. The
dog is hit by a car but it is saved by a
Veterinarian who nurses the animal
back to health. The former show dog
spends the remainder of its days on
the farm with the Vet living a natural
lifestyle as a family dog.
3. A Social Wife enjoys spending her
husband’s money. But when her
husband dies unexpectedly, she is
forced to make it on her own. She can
no longer to keep up with the
accouterments of her status-filled
lifestyle. The woman moves to a small
town and redefines her life in service to
a local orphanage. Her odd
contribution to the children to help them
develop the social graces is awkward
at first. But she teaches them style,
grace and manners that develop their
self confidence. The children become
high achievers and move through high
school and on to college. After the
woman’s death, the former orphans
gather at the orphanage to memorialize
the woman for her contribution and
process. They hold a deep
appreciation of all they have learned
from the unusual woman.
4. Competitive, high rolling, gold
diggers fend off many suitors for their
attention. The women are seen in all
the right places on the societal, party
circuit yet they feel vulnerable and
alone. They are enmeshed is such a
flashy lifestyle that they do not know
themselves at all. When the women
are forced into a natural disaster and
must survive on their own, they become
aware to the need for life skills such as
effective communication and
compassion for the people they are
entrapped with. Through mutual effort,
the group survives the ordeal and all
are irrevocable changed. The women
never return to their former lifestyle and
spend the remainder of their life
seeking higher truth and relationships
of lasting value.
