Predictions: 3rd Quarter 2004 Posted 09/23/04
Headline Predictions
The American Presidential Election: It’s
George Bush!
11/03/04 Correct All major news outlets
report that George Bush wins the
majority votes as well as the electoral
majority.
John Kerry wins the debates but loses
the election to Bush.
Korea abandons their nuclear aspiration
temporarily. Their strategy is to save
money and wait for the outcome of the
American Presidential election to filter
out unwanted assessment and scrutiny
of their program. Correct 11/20/04 USA
Today newspaper reports that North
Korea refused to attend a Nuclear
Cooperation Summit in September
which was interpreted to be a delaying
tactic to wait for the outcome of the
Presidental Election on November 2nd.
Correct 12/03/04 USA Today
newspaper reports that the government
of Kim Jong II has come to terms with
the Bush re election and has
abandoned their pre election hopes of a
Democratic White House. The
government will change it's strategy and
its terms for their nuclear program.
Correct 2/11/05 CNN News reports that
North Korean Officials acknowledge that
they have a nuclear program. They walk
out of the Six Nation Summit on Nuclear
Proliferation and want to speak to the
United States government officials about
their program directly.
Athletes find happiness in professional
sports and play only on the weekend. All
training and development is “on their
own”. They participate in business and a
sports career all in one and it saves the
owner’s money.
Correct 1/26/05 CNN News reports that
a construction manager, Jeff Thomasen,
will be called to play in the Super Bowl
even though he has not played in a
league for over 2-years. Receiver for the
Pittsburgh Steelers, Terrell Owens, is
not expected to play due to an ankle
injury.
American Politics
George Bush wins for another 4-year
term. The American electoral process
will prove to be an exciting adventure for
all who watch it. It will be an exceedingly
close race with careful participation by
each state to ensure a fair and just
result in the counting of votes. Correct
11/01/04 CNN News reports that legal
teams from both the Republican and
Democratic party have been retained to
ensure a fair and just election on a
scale not seen in the history of the
American electoral process. States will
not vacillate on their position from what
is currently seen in the poles right now.
The candidates have already secured
the states they will carry. Undecided
states are not really undecided. The
states that are currently committed to
candidates will continue to be so
throughout the election process.
Correct 11/03/04 The news outlets are
stunned when their exit poll predictions
turn out to be misleading and the
election is somewhat predictable from a
pre-election point of view. Candidates
carried the states they predicted they
would before the election with no major
change or upheaval.
One interesting item of note will be
comments by John Edwards who will
not be able to contain his thoughts and
will speak inappropriately at the 11th
hour and cause embarrassment to the
Kerry camp.
Globally
Turmoil and devastating consequences
arise when global territories cannot
shake territorial wars and frustrating
attempts at progress for unilateral
peace talks. Correct 10/07/04 Live
Presidential Debates on FOX News:
Candidate John Kerry stresses that
peace summits and cooperation of all
the nations of the world are the solution
to the war on terrorism. His position is
that the war has worsened due to
President Bush’s disregard for peaceful
cooperation of all nations and not
seeking diplomatic solutions to the
problem. Whenever people ascribe to
ascend to higher knowledge, they will be
fraught with testimony and opinion
contrary to their beliefs. Correct
10/07/04 Live Presidential Debates on
FOX News: President George Bush
refuted Senator Kerry’s opinion and
reminded him that 30 nations currently
are cooperating in a peaceful solution to
the crisis in Iraq. He also reminded him
that he approached the UN several
times on the matter but could not get
cooperation. He said that they do not
have the same belief in the ideology of a
peaceful solution.
Wars abound in various geographic
areas of the world and people should
hunker down with smaller lifestyle
choices and more value in placed in
survivalist endeavors. That is to mean,
awhile longer the earth will quake and
tremble from catastrophic, human
intervention. People would be well
advised to lower their lifestyle, save
more money, live frugally, embrace a
value system that employs the use of
brotherhood for all mankind. Correct
11/26/04 USA Today newspaper reports
that Marketing Research Firms note a
trend to slow down the holidays by just
saying no to holiday shopping and the
over commercialization of the season
which began after the September 11th
tragedy. People are returning to giving of
their time and spending time together
as opposed to gift giving. It's the
beginning of a backlash against the over
commercialization of the holidays.
Children will be hard hit by skirmishes
and wars. Correct 10/22/04 MSNBC
reports Margaret Hassan, Director of
CARE International, is kidnapped in
Iraq. The organization suspends its
operations that distributes food and
medical care to children in poverty in the
war torn country. Her body is later found.
Correct 11/22/04 The Washington Post
reports that a major cost of the war in
Iraq is child malnutrition. The article
reports that currently 400,000 children in
Iraq are suffering from a "wasting"
condition from dangerous nutritional
deficiencies and lack of clean water that
cause chronic diarrhea. The upcoming
generation will be scarred in numerous
ways for the activities and mores of the
current generation of decision makers.
Usually, children’s lives astound many
with their resilience and optimism but
not so with this upcoming generation.
They will be cruel and cynical due to the
effects of the current historic upheaval.
Medicine
Influenza A and B will emerge late this
quarter and into the first quarter of 2005.
It will be a mild season but many people
will be affected. Correct 12/06/04 The
USA Today newspaper reports that state
by state, flu has emerged but the
outbreaks have been low as reported by
the Center for Disease Control in the
week ending 11/27/04. Correct 12/27/04
USA Today newspaper reports that the
flu season is still considered "light".
That is to mean, fewer people will die
but large numbers of people will lose
three to four days of work due to
digestive and respiratory ailments. Flu
vaccines are a good preventative
measure during the upcoming viral
assault but vaccines will be in short
supply. Correct 10/07/04 Fox News
reports a flu vaccine shortage is
predicted and is cautioning people to
get the vaccine only if they are in high
risk groups. Correct 1/07/05 USA Today
newspaper reports that this year's flu
vaccine may be wasted due to an
increase in production and an unusually
light flu season.
Many people are taking refuge in
prescription drugs. The new generation
of “feel good” drugs has taken a hold in
America and pharmaceutical
companies are pushing insurers to
accept this new burgeoning economy.
While it is true that many ailments
benefit from pharmaceutical
intervention, it is not correct to enhance
one’s life through the use of drugs.
Drugs for depression, juvenile
hyperactivity, mood elevation, sexual
enhancement and others are all over-
prescribed. The trend is symptomatic of
a society in chaos and not a true health
crisis as pharmaceutical companies
would like people to believe. Doctors are
hard pressed to make their patients feel
better immediately and they are
contributing to the escalating trend. As
always, it is better to manage one’s life
through the growth and change
necessary to accommodate a lifestyle
more in keeping with harmony.
Economies
Worldwide economies remain strong
throughout the end of the year (but the
Japanese Yen is still of concern as in a
previous reading). The United States
economy is still strong and growing
even though American families are
hard pressed to see the effects of this
trend i.e., prosperity for all. Certain
people benefit during the current
political regime. Many people in
America still lag behind struggling to
care for their families and to achieve a
better in life. Correct 10/07/04 Live
Presidential Debates on FOX News:
Senator John Kerry debated that the
only people benefiting from President
Bush’s policies are people making
over $200,000. per year because they
are the ones who received the largest
tax relief in the last 4 years. Senator
Kerry went on to say that, if elected, he
will roll back the tax rates for all people
to pre-Clinton levels.
It could be noted, the disappearing
middle class is now a historic fact. The
truth is that more people have shifted
into the lower class. Now as never
before in the current American society,
there is a bigger discrepancy between
the upper and lower classes. The true
middle class lifestyle of the 1940’s and
1950’s has evaporated.
Many generations will pass in America
and people will be stuck in the same
lifestyle that their parents have had. It
has been a societal aspiration in past
history for generations to achieve or
succeed beyond their parent’s lifestyle.
Correct 10/07/04 Live Presidential
Debates on FOX News: Senator John
Kerry was asked about the diminished
lifestyle with each subsequent
generation. He said the way to counter
that is through tax cuts, health care
reform, school reform so that America
has more students graduating to fill
technology jobs, and the development
of more jobs for all people. He said
that the middle class has been
squeezed out. Correct: President Bush
countered with the need for caps on
legal awards, health care reform, and
the discontinuing of outsourcing of
technology jobs to other countries.
This is not possible in the current
economic structure in America due to
governmental and Federal Reserve
intervention to try to control the
economy. The wealthy are allowed to
leave their money to their grand
children tax free which allows them to
maintain or growth their wealth. The
mid to lower classes cannot get ahead
also due to the taxation structure and
their children are inheriting their
lifestyle limitations.
Education was once touted as the
solution to this disparity but this is no
longer so. Often students with Masters
Degrees work in fast food restaurants
or low level management in industries
unrelated to their major. The real
solution lies in a better job outlook but
again nepotism and favoritism has
provided the best jobs for the same
families and associates without a fair
and equal chance for all people.
Technology
France will remain a strong economic
commodity that endeavors to fulfill the
unilateral needs of all of the people of
France. While this is a worthwhile
endeavor, the country is not achieving
in the technology and medical fields as
well as they should due to this position.
China, Taiwan, and mid-status
developing countries are
technologically moving forward the
most quickly. It is true that they have
lagged behind and are in more of a
position to make dramatic progress.
Correct 11/26/04 USA Today
newspaper reports in it's Financial
Section that the Chinese economy is
growing too fast and is due for a hard
landing. The government is beginning
to intervene in sectors which are
expanding above the 9% growth rate in
the last quarter. Silicon Storage
Technology of Sunnyvale, California
reports digital consumer shipments for
the quarter fell 14% due to decreased
shipments of goods to China.
Entertainment
The lifestyle and entertainment industry
still lags behind in being a force to be
reckoned with in relation to worldwide
global change. That is to mean that
many in this industry are progressive,
forward moving people but they hide
behind their celebrity status to “feather
their own nest” so to speak. Few
people step up with really progress
positions because their agents or
publicity reps deem this to be “career
suicide”. Correct 10/13/04 FOX News
reports that Sinclair Media planned to
air an anti-Kerry documentary "Stolen
Honor: Wounds That Never Heal" in
affiliate-owned stations in 39 markets
representing 24% of US households.
The move was considered anti-
American and Sinclair abandoned its
plan. It damaged Sinclair's reputation
and market share.
The truth is that until the Hollywood
community steps up to the task of
recuperating, resolving their own
industry conflicts, and appearing as
one unified industry for the betterment
of all people in mind, they will be
producing mediocre projects. The
down side of the industry’s silence, is
that the audience will remain fickle,
difficult to read, and ebb and flow with
trends in ways that will become
increasingly difficult to predict.
The truth is that few other industries
have as much healing potential as the
media giants in America. At present,
the fractured industry is seeking
betterment for each individual,
business, and project. They continue to
compete fiercely among themselves
and this takes all of their time and
effort. They are in decline at the
threshold to adventure. Correct
11/16/04 USA Today newspaper
reports that watching Disney executives
is a rich lesson in corporate greed.
Michael Eisner's egotism resulted in
paying Michael Ovitz a record 140
million dollar severance package for
only 15 months of work after he tried to
palm him off on Sony. This kind of
corporate greed has turned the
common working man off. Correct
1/07/05 USA Today newspaper reports
in its Money Section that the Disney
Board will be amending their corporate
governance laws to stipulate that a
Chairman must be an independent
director. In fiscal 2004, Michael
Eisner's salary rose 14% to 8.3 million
and Iger's salary rose 73% to 12
million dollars a year.
It should be noted here that Michael
Moore's documentary Fahrenheit 911
is a weak effort to take a stand. It is
really selfishly motivated and has little
to do with societal healing. He is only
trying to promote himself, his
documentary project, and his own
personal political agenda. Correct
10/06/04 CNN News reports that
Michael Moore was soliciting networks
and cable outlets to air his
documentary "Fahrenheit 911" on the
night before the presidential election.
Moore was vocal about his desire to
influence the outcome of the election. It
is not what is needed for change.
Actually, it is transparent to the savvy
audience what Michael Moore is all
about. He does not understand this but
he appears transparent, childish,
fearful character in a moment in time
and the audience sees him as such.
Discoveries
Discoveries will at long last prove
some scientific evidence that there is
life after death. The discoveries are
currently being found in the blending of
art and science. For instance,
metaphysical themes are being
examined in the field of physics. This is
leading to more progressive
opportunity for discovery.
While it is true that scientific minds
have a broad-based perspective, often
these people are encumbered by their
academic qualifications and their
narrow-minded training. The person
who is truly “open minded” and has
good academic training who discovers
because they are constantly curious
about the world and the worlds beyond
the three dimensional world.
American universities are at fault in
their failure to prepare students
appropriately as they had in the past.
The purpose of higher education is to
study mankind, his history, and the
modern world in which he or she now
lives. It is not a marketing ploy to slot
people into particular jobs based on
their choice of degree. That is a sort of
financial “guarantee” on the investment
in an education. Correct 12/27/04 USA
Today newspaper reports that student
organizations are being formed to
challenge what instructors will teach. In
a survey of 50 top universities, 49% of
students reported the professors
frequently commented on politics and
their personal views in class even if it
was outside of the class subject
matter. Students felt pressured to
agree with professors in order to pass
classes. Teachers, on the other hand,
cite guidelines for colleges set in 1915
that allow teachers to present divergent
opinions in the classroom. It is a
heated debate about what will be
taught in Universities and what the
purpose of higher education has
become.
